This image was taken in Kinderdjik, The Netherlands, a Unesco World Heritage-listed area famous for its windmills. I was drawn to this tiny structure on the edge of the dike, it was simple, quaint and solitary. The weather was terrible on the day, blustering winds, passing rain showers and very cold, can you feel it too?
This image was recently awarded First Place in the 35th Perth National Photographic Exhibition (Monochrome category).
